Conversion of a Grade II listed Workhouse
The proposal was to retain, repair and enhance the main listed buildings while demolishing the mortuary, two modern semi-detached houses and modern extensions to the original workhouse. In place of the demolished buildings new residential homes were erected around the Grade II listed former workhouse. To preserve the visual aspect of the Grade II listed building form the highway the new built form was designed with a modest and subservient vernacular.
