Project Description
Former Halstead Police Station, Halstead, Essex
Conversion of the Former Police Station Building into Residential Living Space
The former police station is set within the conservation area of Halstead. The building and outbuildings were erected in 1851 and form an integral part of the town’s history. The brief was to convert the building into residential apartments, in doing so, the buildings past has been researched and considered in the design. The proposal includes the restoration of the original windows and brickwork while the buildings key features have been retained. Internally the layout of the flats make good use of the existing window and door openings to safe guard the building in its setting for years to come.
