Re-development of Brownfield Land Within the Metropolitan Green Belt
The concept was to enhance the visual appeal of this site located within the Metropolitan Green Belt. We had the opportunity to demolish the dilapidated built form, break up the vast expanse of paving and cleanse the land of contamination generated by the former mechanics workshop. In its place we proposed four modest sized dwellings that were specifically designed to provide a reduction in the overall building mass and area of hardstanding. To complement the rural location the four new dwellings take the form of a small agricultural setting, in this case a farm house, barn, cottage and stables. Along with a new bespoke soft landscaped scheme the reduction in built form has opened up the Green Belt and provides new areas where biodiversity can flourish.
